Obituary
Mrs. Doris Sue Muir, age 76 of Kevil, KY died on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. She was a retired special education teacher and administrator at Jonathan Elementary for 32 years. She was a member of First Christian Church and also attended Oscar Baptist
She was known as Mom, Nanny, Aunt Sue. She was a humble, loving, caring person. Her love for everyone was amazing. Her spirit will be with us always! Gone Today but never forgotten.
Born Thursday, May 24, 1945 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Donald Muir and the late Doris (Streeter) Muir.
Surviving are sons, Frank Hiemstra, wife Susan of Kevil, KY and Will Hiemstra, wife Rebecca of Elizabethtown, KY; honorary children, Rick Dick, wife Sylvia of Corpus Christi, TX, Danielle Street of Owensboro, KY and Melissa Gilliam of Brevard, NC, brother, Douglas Muir, wife Jan of Cambridge, MA, sister-in-law, Marian K. Muir of Paducah, KY, grandchildren, Meagan Wells, husband Dustin, Amanda Keen, Samantha Darnell, Cameron Hiemstra, Austin Darnell, Brittany Reynolds, Alex Hamlet, Kailey Hamlet, Katlyn Hamlet, Austin Hamlet, great-grandchildren, Kaydynce Wells, Icelynn Wells, James Reynolds, Collin Reynolds, and Clay Reynolds. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Scott Muir, wife Tina, Kristen Watts, husband Stan, Susan Waters, husband Mike, Laura Muir, and Mike Muir. Great nieces and nephews, Ruby, Jordan and Michael Waters, Blake Watts, Steve Ramage, Sarah Wood, Preston Muir, Madeline Browning and great great nieces and nephew also survives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Don Muir.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Bro. Ryan Baker officiating.
Interment will follow in Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home.
