Janice Faughn,   age 79, of Metropolis, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Janice was born in Paducah, Kentucky on Sunday, October 29, 1944 to Lee and Ann Shelby. She retired after 28 years as a Risk Control Manager with Walmart. She was an instructor of Motorcycle Safety at West Kentucky Community and Technical College. Janice was a strong Christian and servant of the Lord, and a member of Heartland Church.

Mrs. Faughn is survived by her sons, Pete Kappas, Jr. (Cyndi) of Ft. Worth, Texas and Jim Kappas (Holly) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; her sister, Linda Jenkins of Boaz, Kentucky; her brother, Nelson Shelby of Paducah; her grandchildren, Whittney and Kelsey Kappas; her step grandchildren, Cutter, Jeracho and Cullen Bryan.

Mrs. Faughn was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Faughn; her parents, Lee Shelby and Ann Clay Shelby.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Dr. Nathan Joyce officiating. An urn burial will follow at Pell Cemetery in Brookport, Illinois.

A memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2024 at the funeral home.
